Is AXS GIF free to use?
Yes. Every GIF tool — video to GIF, GIF to MP4, images to GIF, resize, crop, compress, reverse and rotate — is free, with no watermark. A Premium plan simply removes the ads.
Is my file private?
Yes. The GIF engine runs entirely in your browser (WebAssembly), so your video or GIF is never uploaded to our servers. There is no server-side copy at any point.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can use every tool without signing up. An account is only needed to remove ads and save your preferences.
Why does the first conversion take a moment?
The first time you use a tool, your browser downloads the GIF engine (a one-time load). After that, conversions start instantly for the rest of your session.
Can I use AXS GIF on my phone?
Yes. AXS GIF works in any modern mobile browser. Very large videos are best converted on a desktop.
What can it convert?
Video (MP4, WebM, MOV) to GIF, GIF to MP4, and sets of JPG/PNG images into an animated GIF. You can also resize, crop, compress, reverse, rotate and extract frames from GIFs.
