Why very fast GIFs play slowly — and how this tool avoids it
Browsers can't show GIF frames faster than 50 per second. A frame delay shorter than that is treated as a mistake and replaced with a slow 10 frames per second — so naively speeding up a smooth GIF can make it play slower. When speeding up, this tool drops frames as needed to stay at or below 50 fps, so the result really is faster. The new duration is shown with the result.
